MNP: Mobile Number Portability and Procedure





 

What is MNP ?
MNP (Mobile Number Portability) allows Mobile Users to Change the Mobile Operator
without changing their Existing Number.

For Example:
You can change ur Airtel SIM to Docomo SIM
without changing the Number

Advantages:
-You can Enjoy Tarrif rates of ur Own Choice Company without changing the Number.

Procedure:
  • Contact the New mobile Service Provider (Retailer) to whom you want to port your mobile number.
  • Obtain Customer acquisition From (CAF) & Porting Form.
  • Obtain ‘Unique Porting Code‘ by sending an SMS from the mobile number you want to port to the number ‘1900’ with text ‘PORT’  followed by space followed by your 10 digit mobile number you want to port.
Example: Type   PORT  94265xxxxx     Send to 1900
  • Fill up the CAF and Porting Form.
  • Submit the duly filled Porting Form and CAF along with requisite documentary proof of the mobile service provider. (Retailer)
  • If you are a post paid subscriber, submit a paid copy of the last bill issued along with the Porting Form and CAF.
  • Obtain new SIM card from the new service provider (Retailer).
Activation:
  • New mobile service provider will give you the date & time of porting on your mobile phone.
  • Just Change Old SIM with New SIM on that Date & Time
Charges:
The Porting Charges are Rs.19 for Any Network to Any Network

Conditions
  • Subscriber is allowed to move to another mobile service provider only after 90 days of the date of the activation of that mobile connection or from the date of porting of the mobile number, whichever is applicable.
  • MNP is allowed only in Local Network
  • Post-paid subscribers, please ensure that you have paid all the dues as per your last bill.
  • Pre-paid subscriber, Balance Talktime,if any,will Not be Transfered.(It'l be Gone).Try Porting when you finish the Talktime.
